TransMonEE Data
A hub for child rights monitoring data in Europe and Central Asia.
Data is foundational to UNICEF's efforts in monitoring child rights, empowering informed decision-making and deepening our understanding of the challenges children face in the Europe and Central Asia region. Annually, national statistical offices (NSOs) within the TransMonEE network compile and submit critical data to UNICEF, covering areas such as child protection, justice for children, children with disabilities, and violence against children. This unique collection includes 150 specific indicators or variables, often unavailable in other international databases, significantly enriching the TransMonEE Regional Database for Children. Our Country Data Compilation page provides NSOs with key resources for data compilation and features a dashboard dedicated to showcasing the data collected through this process every year. Additionally, the TransMonEE Partnerships for Data Enhancement page showcases how TransMonEE is working with countries to strengthen their data systems for vulnerable children, providing insights and tools to enhance data quality and reliability.
Beyond the valuable NSO-contributed data, the TransMonEE Regional Database for Children incorporates approximately 800 other child rights indicators sourced from a variety of international databases. These indicators are meticulously organized into 35 subdomains that align with the ECA Child Rights Monitoring (CRM) Framework. Predominantly consisting of time-series data, the database facilitates the identification of trends and patterns over time, providing a longitudinal perspective on child rights issues. The TransMonEE Database Explorer tool provides exclusive access to this rich database, allowing stakeholders to query and download detailed data sets.
Complementing this extensive database, the TransMonEE Dashboard displays a selection of key indicators, enabling stakeholders to navigate and analyse data according to the specific sub-domains of the ECA CRM Framework. Additionally, the dashboard integrates and displays related Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) recommendations for each country, further enhancing its utility for evidence-based advocacy and policymaking.
