22 Jun, 2026 – A new report, Child-related SDGs: Tracking Progress towards 2030 in Europe and Central Asia, assesses progress towards child-related Sustainable Development Goal targets across 21 UNICEF programme countries in the region. Drawing on 47 indicators across 12 SDGs, it highlights areas of progress, identifies persistent challenges, and examines key data gaps affecting the monitoring of child outcomes. 7 May, 2026 – Building on discussions from the latest TransMonEE session, UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia has developed a proposed Institutional Architecture for National Child Rights Monitoring Systems. The document outlines institutional arrangements for coordinating, producing and using child rights data, and is intended to support discussion and shared learning across countries. Read more here.
9 Mar, 2026 – The TransMonEE Network Meeting 2026 took place on 6 March in Geneva, Switzerland, focusing on priorities for strengthening child data systems across Europe and Central Asia. Held alongside the UNECE/UNICEF Group of Experts on Statistics on Children, the meeting covered improving the production and use of child-related statistics, making better use of administrative and survey data, and sharing lessons from TransMonEE activities. 19 Jan, 2026 – Building on the recent Where We Live and Learn report, the latest story in the Every Right Counts series, When discipline turns violent, uses MICS data to examine which children are most at risk of violent child discipline. The analysis reveals clear patterns linked to children’s age, gender, disability status and community context, and highlights why stronger prevention, better coordination and improved data are needed to keep children safe. 27 Oct, 2025 – A new report in the TransMonEE Analytical Series, Where We Live and Learn: Violence against Children in Europe and Central Asia, presents the most comprehensive regional mapping and analysis of violence against children to date. Drawing on administrative and survey data, it highlights key trends, data gaps and the urgent need to strengthen protection systems across the region. Access the report here.
15 Sept, 2025 – The new Child-related SDG Progress Dashboard tracks how countries across Europe and Central Asia are advancing towards the child-focused targets of the Sustainable Development Goals. Using the latest available data, it highlights both progress made and remaining challenges in areas such as health, education, protection and environment. Explore the dashboard here.
15 Jul, 2025 – The next story in the Every Right Counts series uncovers which children are still missing out on life-saving vaccines in Europe and Central Asia. Drawing on newly released immunization estimates from WHO and UNICEF, alongside disaggregated household survey data, the story reveals persistent gaps and patterns of inequity in coverage.
